Brittany Ferry Visit

As part of Year one’s Tasty World topic, 1PG visited Cap Finistère, one of Brittany Ferries larger vessels that sail from Portsmouth on Wednesday 5th October. The children have been learning about differences between the twinned towns of Portsmouth and Caen, one of the ports sailed to by Brittany Ferries.

During our exciting trip the children had their ‘passports’ stamped and saw how luggage is scanned, before being driven by bus onto the ferry itself.  Once on board the class was shown various areas of the ship, including the cinema, the restaurants and shops, a cabin, the dog exercise area, children’s play area and were allowed to explore the bridge.  At every opportunity the children practiced their French by saying ‘bonjour’ and ‘merci’ to the many
staff on board the Cap Finistère.

On returning to Flying Bull 1PG were amazed to hear the ferry blasting it’s horn as it left port bound for the continent.  We hope that 1C have as amazing a trip as we had, next Wednesday.
